Songs by Singaporeans

歌词挺有意思。我想,必定会引起不少人的共鸣。我,本来就是个不完美的人。I’ll be someone someday. 献给有理想的朋友。阔别歌坛2、3年,新加坡男歌手 - 石康鈞的新歌!

This is the new National Day 2010 theme song – “Song for Singapore”. Sung by US-based Singaporean singer – Corrinne May.

The song is a nice sentimental song but somehow I feel that it does not have that catchy punchy impact. The tune is quite low pitch.  Anyway, in my humble opinion, it is still s000o much better than last year’s song – “What do you see?” by rock band Electrico.

And that so-called YOG Cheer song.

Preferred 2008’s song – “Shine for Singapore” or 2006’s  – “My Island Home”.

The 1998 National Day song “Home” sung by Kit Chan was sooo good. Really, it has that sentimental effect that tug the heartstrings of overseas Singaporeans, making them homesick!!

If you are to really compare, I would say that there is nothing that beats the original version of “Count on Me Singapore”.

This National Day song was produced in 1986.

This is what I called the “Great Patrotic Singapore NDP Song”. 😀

The original version of “Count on Me Singapore” sung by Clement Chow.

Does anyone have 1986 “Count on Me Singapore” MTV which was often shown on television before National Day in mid-1980s? If you do, please do share by dropping a link in the comment box below this blog entry.

I seriously think that for sake of younger generations of Singaporeans today, we should urge MediaCorp to continue airing those MTVs every National Day! Don’t just air the NDP Theme Song MTV of the year lah. =p
