This event is organized by the organising committee of SHINE Youth Festival 2010, one which is positioned as a unique youth-for-youth festival where young Singaporeans from diverse backgrounds and interests can share their talents and creativity, and inspire others in making a positive difference to our society through the social causes they embrace.
This year, we will be holding a pageant, inviting both male and female individuals who have the confidence and the poise to stand out from the crowd.

Into the sixth year, SHINE Youth Festival 2010 kicked off with a big bang, with much youth dynamism and vibrancy yesterday. Organising committee members including myself reported at 9am to start making preparations for our various fringe activities which promised non-stop action for 12 hours.
Taking place at *SCAPE Youth Park as well as the recently opened *SCAPE Building, this national youth festival launch event transformed the area into an urban beach, with activities such as Urban Beach Frisbee Challenge, Street Basketball and Beach Volleyball.
Almost all activities begun at 12noon, showcasing four interests of Arts & Culture, Community, Environment and Sports.
Held at *SCAPE Youth Park as well as the recently opened *SCAPE Building, this national youth festival launch event had activities beginning at 12noon, to showcase four interests of Arts, Culture, Community, Environment and Sports.
Although there was a heavy downpour in the morning (fortunately the rain stopped around 11am plus!), it did not deter many youths from coming down to Orchard Road joining in the festivities.
The cosplayers had the opportunity to conquer Orchard Road as their favourite fictional characters from video games, comics, movies, youth culture, joining more than 1,000 youths making a parade procession around Orchard Road!
Urban Beach Pageant commenced at 2.30pm. The contestants underwent 4 segments namely the beach wear, the swim wear aka Question-and-Answer session, casual wear and talent showcase. Audience was invited to cast votes to pick their favourite winner, of which was part of the judging criteria.
Congratulations to Ms Wong Su Ann and Mr Kayson Hong for winning the titles of Ms/Mr Urban Beach Pageant 2010!
Guest of Honour, Mr Teo Ser Luck, Chairman of National Youth Council, officiated the festival launch at 5.15pm plus.
When dusk fell, it was action at *SCAPE Building. Although it was still wet weather, youths continued immersing themselves in the music festival cum night party featuring youth culture such as breakdancing battles, hip hop dance etc and partied at the dance floor.
